Welcome day is an event in which Poli exchange students are welcomed by iPoli and officially introduced to the Polytechnic School. Professors that are responsible for the school’s internationalization and its director welcome the exchange students as well.
Before the event begins, iPoli gives souvenirs to the exchange students (a CD with photos taken on the Reception Week and Brazilian songs, for example) and asks them to complete a form to receive feedback so that iPoli can always improve its activities.
iPoli’s members give quick talks about Brazil, São Paulo, USP and Poli. Then, a coffee break full of typical Brazilian food is offered. After that, the students get to see presentations of the Rateria (Poli’s bateria - which is similar to a marching band and very common among Brazilian universities as a way of sports cheering) and the Capoeira group (a Brazilian Martial Art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music).
You are all invited to join the Welcome Day to get to know iPoli and our actions better!
